 PEOPLE’S PARK IN TAGAYTAY

- The People's Park in the Sky, also known as Palace in the Sky and formerly known as People's Park, is a historical urban park in Tagaytay, Cavite, Philippines. The park was created out of an unfinished palace known as the Palace in the Sky, which was built during the Marcos era to accommodate US President Ronald Reagan's visit. When Reagan canceled his visit, work on the home came to a halt, but the completed scaffolding remained.

Hernan D. Reyes, along with four high school students and two workmen, built Peoples Park Tagaytay and established it on December 15, 1974. During the mansion's construction in 1981, attempts were made to blast off the rock that contained the image of the Virgin Mary, but they were unsuccessful, therefore it was left untouched.

- The park was first opened to the public in August 2007 during the Kadayawan festival. It was named "People's Park" and opened on December 15, 2007, after a contest held by the local government to name the park. The winning entry was chosen from 918 entries. Romeo Sardon, a former engineer and seaman, came up with the winning name.
